Mind or Body, which is stronger?

I read in a book that Mind matters the most and someone said, its body.

This has puzzled me for years before I went through unusual experiences which helped me to overcome from this confusion.

It is story of boy who belonged to small town of Jharkhand( India). Like every child, he was fond of playing.

As the years progressed, his interest in sports increased multifold. Later he went on to become the face of sports of his school & college

In the process, he turned into a team player and acquired an attitude, “never give up “.

As he passed out of graduation, he got a job as a Marketing Executive (Pharmaceutical company) in the most happening city of India, Bengaluru.

This job required extensive traveling within or outside cities.

One fine day, in the year, 2007, he fell from the bike and had minor abrasions on his hand.

Later this one turned into short of skin patches and remained there.

After trying some home remedies stuff, he consulted the Doctor who said, its an infection and advised the medications which contained antibiotics and moisturizers.

No relief, then he landed to another clinician, who branded Eczema, advised the steroids and moisturizers.

In fact over the years, these skin patches spread into other parts of the body. Hand one was pretty visible and strangers used to notice it first.

This was becoming embarrassing at times especially in social gatherings.

Later he landed to Dermatologists. After thorough investigation, Dr ruled out any sort of allergic reactions, branded it as Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease, this cannot be cured but controlled and as usual, advised the medication.

This disclosure came as a shocker and he could not digest it completely

Then he explored the Ayurveda & homeopathic medication as per co-workers & relative suggestions. But they helped to keep his belief alive saying that it could be due to some allergens but not sure. They advised taking plenty of water, along with their routine medications & insisting primarily on self-discipline habits.

He was desperate and ready to do any sort of thing which will help him. Later he moved into Yoga, weekly fasting, and also quit smoking permanently, thinking that this may help.

Fortnightly he chose to give a break to one food item and this went on for almost a couple of years. In due course, he left eating every kitchen item which includes dal, vegetables, fruits, coffee, tea, and so on. But all the efforts went in vain and no changes were seen in symptoms. He was losing all the hopes, feeling depressed.

But then he suddenly saw a new ray of hope which was unheard of before.

His mother who had chronic acidity problems for years was suspected to have Gluten allergic problem. Though many of the family members objected to it strongly, responded “how come? Is wheat allergic? Unheard? Not possible to follow?

This guy saw the opportunity and left eating wheat in any form on his own, informing only his spouse.

For almost a month, he saw a few positive contractions of patches but then, this was too early to say anything and also it was a common phenomenon too with every change in food habits.

He read many articles related to Gluten in print & social media, This all increased his conviction & pursued having only rice. Now efforts put in were showing the results. Almost after 9 months, he observed that patches were getting shorter and re-epithelialization’s were happening.

This feeling was not lesser than winning Nobel prizes.

Now, readers, I'm sure, you must have got the answer, who is stronger,” Mind Vs Body”?

Yes, for me, it always minds. This was my discovery journey.
